I have enjoyed painting for as long as I can remember, my favourite topic being "Wildlife, birds and pets". At the age of ten, I started to paint animal heads and birds on large stones that Id collected from the garden and the beach, but these days I generally use the traditional canvas and board and take commissions for" pet portraits". I especially like to work with acrylic as I love the textures I can create by layering the paint, however I also like to use pastel and the more delicate medium of watercolour.
Below is a small exhibition of some of my work

Although the majority of commissions I recieve are for dogs, cats and horses, I have been asked to paint all sorts of exciting creatures including leopards, tigers and gorillas,.donkeys, parrots, pigs, a cockerel, hamsters and a fancy rat.

I choose to paint in acrylic, as I feel this medium helps me to get the feeling of life and vitalitity important in animal portraiture. Each portrait is unique with every care given to emulate the animals features and personality. I only use the finest quality paints, materials and frames and I will never frame a painting until I am completely satisfied with my work.
To help me get that special look that makes each pet individual, I do ask for good quality, clear photographs, preferably several.
